Incredibles Really Are

On Saturday night, Pixar held a screening and wrap party for its (and Brad Bird's) latest movie, "The Incredibles". Even though we didn't work on it (I did just start six weeks ago), AX and I were invited to attend. What a phenomenal movie. When I got to Pixar, I intentionally kept myself in the dark about it so that I could see it in all its glory at the wrap party and I definitely made the right choice. I may be biased, but I truly believe that Pixar has another huge hit on its hands. You will hear "Dahling you got so fat" and you will laugh.

The thing that struck me the most about the evening, aside from Sunday morning's hangover, was how much joy and pride the entire company took in the film. There was genuine excitement from people who didn't work on it for the people who did. Warm, heartfelt congratulations were going around and when Steve Jobs, who is recovering from cancer and is keenly aware of the importance of family, thanked the families of Pixar employees for supporting us so that we can work in this crazy business, his thanks and feelings were sincere. I'm generally a pretty cynical bastahd, but I definitely felt the love.

I bet this guy already has his opening weekend planned out.
